Carlton House Vintage Arts and Crafts Centre

‘Carlton House Vintage Arts and Crafts Centre’ was established in Spring 2015, soon becoming a much-loved gem in the local community of Worksop. Near to the town centre, this shop, tearoom and premises builds upon a sustainable business model and its vintage values are focussed on supporting the arts, crafts, upcycling, handmade and eclectic ‘maker’ movement.

It has thrived by offering the opportunity for crafters, collectors, interior designers, and talented entrepreneurs, to pop up and showcase their creativity to the public, encouraging the message of supporting and shopping local. Whether you love flea markets, craft fayres or department stores, the shop offers something for everyone of all ages, as you explore the 3 floors, characteristic rooms and all its shelves, cabinets, and nooks.

The eye catching, double fronted building is Grade 2 Listed and dates back to the late 1800’s, when it was built as the Worksop Council Offices. The words ‘Council Offices’ are engraved in the stone frontage, alongside ornate external décor and it is crowned with a green dome bell tower, with spire on the top. Entering through the central archway gates, you can wander indoors and see the high ceilings, beautiful windows, and Grand Staircase, giving a timeless sense of how the building has been enjoyed, with many visitors reciting stories from its history across the decades.
